General rules for drawing pine

A tree like pine is familiar even to kids, because its large sharp needles can prick a finger, unlike the small needles of a Christmas tree. The pine tree is usually an element of the landscape painting. In this case, you will need the ability to compose a composition, taking into account the fact that the pine will be drawn surrounded by other trees and objects.

How to easily draw a pine tree with a pencil

The technique of drawing with a pencil is simple, children can easily cope with this task, but first you need to prepare materials for work:

• paper - several sheets, you can stock up on an album;
• pencils will be needed of different softness (hard HB, medium 2B, soft 5B);
• an eraser along with a sharpener to keep the pencil sharp.

If this is a test drawing, you don't have to think about the idea of ​​a composition, then you can immediately start artistic creation, observing the sequence of stages. For drawing, you do not need pencils of different softness, a simple one and two colored pencils (green, brown) are enough.

How to draw pine needles

Pine is not a particularly branched tree, like oak or birch, its design will not be difficult for young children. After mastering the techniques of schematic representation, future artists are interested in learning how to draw more realistic and complex compositions so that the pine tree looks as natural as possible.

Indeed, in nature, its needles are not solid green "clouds", but long and sharp needles that are worth trying to portray more realistically. Moreover, they are not always straight, not equally densely located on the curved branches of a giant forest tree.

How to proceed next:

1. With a simple pencil, outline the diagram of the branch. Additional branches are drawn from its uneven contour on different sides. They can come out of the nodes, be single processes of different lengths, but also without a hint of straightness.
2. With prepared brown paint, the contour of the branch drawn with a pencil is carefully filled with paint. When it dries up, you can start working on the needles of the needles. They should be painted immediately with green paint.
3. Pine needles, unlike ordered spruce needles, rarely grow singly, more often in pairs. The needles extending from the branch are painted with green paint both straight and wavy. Although their length is the same, they should stick out completely out of tune.

For a simpler drawing of pine branches, a fork is prepared. On a sheet of paper with diluted brown gouache, draw a base - a curved line. Green paint is diluted in a flat container and the prongs of a fork are dipped in it.

1. With a hard pencil, outline a triangle - isosceles and large. Lower the perpendicular from the top of the geometric figure, extending it beyond the triangle. This will be the base of the trunk.
2. To the left and to the right of the central line, outline the contours of the crown, drawing them with wavy lines. As you move downward, the footprints of the outlines may extend beyond the triangle.
3. Remove the auxiliary lines used to draw the shape with an eraser. Below, in place of the end part of the perpendicular, a trunk is drawn; it will be short but wide.

A pine tree (a drawing for children in a schematic design together with a coniferous crown will become much more beautiful if it is depicted in color) can be painted. The trunk can be made brown, and the triangular needles can be made green. Often, lonely pines grow at a slope, and their crown is directed mainly towards the slope, where there is more sun.

It is easier to draw such a tree - its trunk is applied at an angle, on one side they designate a crown triangle with a semicircular base. Inside the sketch, curved branches (large and small) are drawn, which are supplied with many needle strokes.

Pine cone

Coniferous cones are modified shoots covered with woody scales. Unlike Christmas trees, pine cones are more elongated. To depict a pine cone, you will need pencils, and already a pencil sketch can be painted with watercolors.

Pine with cones should look more natural. Therefore, when the drawing is dry, it can be worked out with black liners. Border the scales with a thicker liner, inside them make shading with a thinner liner. The base of the cone can be decorated with green highlights from long pine needles.

Pine branch with cone

It is better to draw from nature, it is not at all difficult for a child to imagine what such a composition looks like in nature. You should start working on the drawing with a schematic sketch of the future branch with a pine cone attached to it at the chosen place.

How to proceed:

1. Bump sketch. Using the techniques already studied, a pine cone with densely spaced scales of different sizes is gradually drawn. The shape should be facing down with a sharper end, the layer of scales from below needs to be thickened a little. Erase extra strokes in the picture with an eraser.
2. Working on a branch. On the curved skeleton of the branches (sketch), needles are drawn, taking into account whether it will cover the cone or the shoot will come to the fore. Long needles extending from the branch are applied in chaotic directions. To make the branch seem fluffy, the needles are drawn a lot and thickly.

A pine tree (a drawing for schoolchildren, depicted in full size with a schematic technique, will be a simple task) can be partially depicted. A pine branch with one or more cones is more difficult to draw, since you need to know the rules for applying shadows.

At the final stage of artistic creation, children begin to paint the sketch of their own choice - with paints or pencils, but taking into account the shades of needles and scales. If the child has mastered the skills of drawing a cone well, a pine branch can be drawn longer by placing several cones of different types on it - with open or closed scales.

How to draw a lonely pine tree

Getting started, you should think about the composition along with all its details. It is advisable to prepare a sample image with a pine tree (picture, photo).

For less experienced artists, it is better to start with desaturated landscapes, where a pine tree is depicted as a tree standing alone.

1. First, at the chosen place (taking into account other elements of the composition), using points, you need to designate a generalized tree contour. Using barely noticeable strokes and dots, mark the line of the trunk, branches, crown. This can be done with a hard pencil, then the sketches in the drawing will be barely noticeable.
2. At the next stage, "clouds" of coniferous caps are placed on the branches. They don't have to be straight. The contour line is drawn broken, leaving more empty spaces between the "clouds" themselves. Needle caps can overlap the trunk or branches to make the picture look more natural.
3. Next in line is the image of a narrow contour of a long barrel. Draw it with a hard pencil, use a soft 2B to darken the barrel, and then a softer 5B to shade the side that is in the shadow. The branches of the tree also need to be shaded without intruding on the caps of the future needles. Use the eraser to remove the lines that have gone beyond the contour.
4. When filling the "clouds" with needles, it should be given a disheveled look. The effect is achieved by shading, but not even, but curved strokes, because in nature, straight lines are rarely found. Therefore, it is better to apply needles randomly with sharp shading with a pencil.
5. Next, they begin to mark the needles along the contours of the "clouds". To do this, you will need a pencil of softness 2B, since you will have to draw thin strokes with sharp tips. If the pine tree does not look fluffy enough, you can add needles with the same pencil inside the coniferous caps.
6. At the final stage, the "clouds" with needles should be slightly darkened with the softest pencil. However, it is better not to shade completely, otherwise the green caps will look too schematic. It is worth completely darkening only those "clouds" that are between the lines of branches.

Pine (drawing for children of the older age group) in the composition of the picture is often its main element. Having finished working on the key figure, they begin to designate the components of the second plan. It will be easy for teenagers to cope with the plot of a lonely pine tree on a deserted shore of a reservoir (sea or river).

In this version of the landscape, a lonely tree should be already mature, growing at an angle to the coast, and the crown of a pine tree will be dense mainly on one side, where there is more sun. On the leeward side of the trunk, only dry broken branches without needles are drawn.

Pine tree in winter

In a winter forest, against a background of white snowdrifts, the typical features of all tree species look especially distinct, which requires careful drawing of details. For children who have not yet mastered the technique of depicting other types of trees, it is easier to draw a landscape of a winter forest with a predominance of conifers.

The work on the drawing begins with the drawing of low snowdrifts in the foreground, the height of which increases with distance inland.

Further, the places of arrangement of trees are schematically marked, these will be spruce and pine trees mixed, of different heights. Moreover, low Christmas trees are shown schematically with a triangular crown, and tall pines - with a crown like "clouds".

In this version of the landscape, the trunk will be partially visible due to the snowdrifts, which makes it easier to work. The needles of fir trees and pines need to be decorated with snow caps, having marked them in advance before painting the crown, or "sprinkle" the already painted green needles with a snow of white strokes of watercolor.

From the fairy forest

Children will love the idea of ​​drawing a pine tree from a fairy forest or its branch. You can decorate a self-made New Year card with a similar fragment.

How to quickly draw a pine tree with paints:

1. Prepare a sheet of colored paper and gouache, brushes. To get a light green hue on the palette, add a little green to the white paint. With the resulting paint in the selected place, outline the contours of a pine tree or its branches with shoots.
2. In the same light green tone, paint the initial "layer" of coniferous needles using a wide brush. However, each needle in the caps of the needles should not be thin, this is the basis for further work on the drawing.
3. Having prepared a dark green paint, add a little blue to the green gouache. With the thinnest brush, carefully paint thin strokes on top of a light green base to get a play of light and shadow.
4. The surface of a pine trunk or branch must first be painted over with light brown paint, using a thick brush. Then, with a thinner brush, draw dark brown strokes on top, their density will resemble natural bark.

Decorating a branch or the whole tree will help to achieve the feeling of a holiday, not only with the image of cones, but also with colorful New Year's balls.

It is better to think about their placement in advance in order to outline the contours of additional elements at the marking stage. The branches of a fabulous pine tree, sparkling with bright balls and scaly cones, can be sprinkled with snowflakes if the child has learned to draw them.
